R&D / Technology

The technologies of our group, which has been honed with a variety of colorants, consist of five fundamental technologies: pigment dispersion technology, material design & compounding technology, kneading technology, molding and processing technology, and analysis and evaluation technology.
These fundamental technologies support our core technologies that give us a competitive advantage, and enable us to develop colorants and functional products that meet the demands of a wide range of fields.

Fundamental Technology

  • pigment dispersion technology

    Many pigments are used in colorants, and it is important to uniformly disperse and stabilize pigments in base materials in order to maintain the colors required for inks and resin molding materials. Technology is required to control the properties of the material by controlling fineness, particle size, wettability, etc., and to produce products without agglomerating the material.

  • material compounding technology

    In order to enhance product value, a wide range of functional materials must be appropriately selected according to the end product's use environment and application, and a combination of processes and formulas must be used to maintain stable performance.

  • kneading technology

    Kneading technology for mixing is important to make pigment dispersion technology and material design & compounding technology effective. Extensional flow and shear flow work in kneading, and it is necessary to optimize the kneading equipment according to the material and to control the operating conditions appropriately, which are essential for product design.

  • molding processing technology

    It is said that the quality of a mold determines the quality of a product.
    We analyze the shape and function required for the molded product, design the product, design the mold, and then make the mold under optimal mold processing conditions. We have accumulated a wealth of design and molding technologies through feedback of evaluation results of molded products obtained after molding under optimal molding conditions back into product design.

  • analysis evaluation technology

    Technology to correctly evaluate the performance of products used in various fields is the foundation of “monozukuri (or manufacturing)”, along with production technology. We provide reliable products with evaluation technology based on our wide range of analytical instruments and analytical know-how.
